Cabot's Stains were a semi-solid, oil-based product used on Eichler Home exteriors. They are still manufactured today in many colors.

Thanks Veronica -- love your artwork -- check it out everyone: http://veronicadiago.blogspot.com/
I'm sold! I'll be using Cabot stains on my original Eichler style fencing for my Sacramento Eichler. Unfortunately, like most Eichlers in Sacramento, and elsewhere, the siding on the house had been painted with regular paint--once that's happened, you can't go back to the Cabot stain. I used Cabot Stains to reproduce the original finish when I replaced my interior paneling and it worked great.
Thanks Dane! By the way, you will be able to see Dane's work on June 26, 2010 at the Sacramento Mid-Century Modern Home Tour. See http://sacmcmhometour.blogspot.com for details!
